This stage of the Camino Francés was nothing short of breathtaking! Leaving Cacabelos, I walked through the historic town of Villafranca del Bierzo, often called the "Little Santiago" for its beautiful churches and deep pilgrim traditions. Instead of taking the usual road route, I opted for the scenic and challenging Pradela Route, a mountain variant offering stunning panoramic views of the Bierzo region. Though steep, the effort was well worth it! The perfect way to end the day? A stay at the incredible Casa Susi, a welcoming and peaceful albergue known for its hospitality and home-cooked meals.
