In this episode of firm foundation, Richard explains what Romans 11:29, “The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable,” is about. He explains what modern-day teachers teach and say that this verse is about, and how they misinterpret and misapply it. Richard shows that this passage is clearly about Israel and the covenant God made with Israel and the grace-gifts (charisma(ta): χάρισμα). Richard explains and shows all the ways that the current #NAR and #WOF misinterpret and misapply this passage of scripture. People like #BillJohnson, #RickJoyner, #RichardGordon, #KrisVallotton, #JesseDuplantis, #JohnPaulJackson, and many, many others teach the erroneous view that this passage is talking about #spiritualgifts. Richard also traces the historical understanding of this passage of scripture throughout Christian theological history. Up until the 1950s, this passage has been understood to be about #Israel and God‘s #covenant of grace and gifts to Israel. In the 1950s, Richard shows a sermon that #WilliamBranham gave where he applied this misinterpretation. And ever since, because of these false teachers, who cover for prophets and apostles who fail morally, to say that their "gifts and calling are irrevocable.“ And in so doing, they changed the interpretation of that verse to mean that anybody who is totally ungodly, sinful, and immoral can still be a prophet or have been an incredible supernatural gift.
