This was filmed on 13 Jan 2025 at around 4:30 PM at LYL International Karting Circuit. It’s already Day 5 of the Great Karting Adventure, and we’re starting to feel the fatigue creeping in — but the show must go on. This was our first stop of the day, and the track layout was long, flowing, fun but brutally painful for heavier guys. The 270cc Sodi RT8 struggled a bit on the long straights, especially with me weighing in at around 78kg (half gear). The kart disparity was obvious, and it showed — most of my 6 runs ended up in the higher 1:37–1:38 range. This particular lap was a 1:37.00, though my best of the day was a 1:36.8. To access the 390cc karts, a 1:35 was required. While I didn’t break it on time, the track manager acknowledged that the pace was there, but the weight disadvantage and kart lottery meant I’d need a few more sessions to realistically hit that target. He let me through anyway — next video will show how that went. Also noticed after uploading, this layout is now obsolete, and the new one looks even quicker. Definitely returning for a rematch.
