You Are the Air by Jonathan Graves & Dylan Linehan

My dearest friend Kenny Sumner passed away from colon cancer on Aug. 1st, 2014. One of the ways that I started to deal with grief was through my writing. Dylan Linehan is a singer/song writer that I have been a huge fan of for awhile. One night after a performance, she noticed some of the poetry that I'd been scratching on a napkin. She took one look at it and began encouraging me to turn it into a song. I truly believe that God works in mysterious ways, but at that moment I had never imagined myself as a song writer. Dylan and I collaborated for about a month and I'm so happy to share some of our work. It was an incredible journey and I can finally say that I've found a great deal of peace and acceptance. The greatest lesson that I've learned from this experience is that God gives us life, but also the gift of infinite joy. It's up to each of us to take pause and give it recognition. The song is dedicated to Kenny's wife Ashley. He married the most beautiful, intelligent, and thoughtful bride anyone could ask for. Ashley always helped to keep Kenny’s spirits up, made sure that he had the BEST… and I mean BEST care anyone could ask for. This song was written as a reminder that even after someone's death, we're continually surrounded by their love and light. A special thanks to the channel oldstuff4all for the sunset footage.
