Outline of the criteria that I use for selecting my carry ammo, and presenting some choices that I considerable viable for carry in my chosen platform. I've had this question so often, it was time to make a video on the topic. I've been shooting 9mm on a regular basis since the late 90's, therefore my research into this began at that time. Obviously, technology has changed quite a bit. There is a ton of useful information online, but having the ability to run ammo tests in the backyard has certainly helped to confirm (or not) my research over the years. The ammo test results in this video were using SIM-TEST from www.corbins.com, calibrated to be comparable with 10% ordinance gel (I calibrate the block), plus four layers of denim. In 2021 my opinions haven't changed much, except I tend to carry the 124 +P Gold Dot year-round. In the years since this overview was posted there haven't been many new products that moved the needle for me.
