I thought taking the kids to see the potential new home would feel like hope. In some ways it did. In other ways… it cracked something open I wasn’t prepared for. What this moment reminded me is something I keep relearning as a parent - and as a human: grief doesn’t move on our schedule. And healing doesn’t happen by skipping the feelings that come first. Greyson and Saydee were both very emotional. Lots of Tears. And it took me a moment to realize - that those tears weren’t because they were resisting the future. It’s because they were honoring the past. And in their honesty, they taught me something powerful about presence, patience, and letting emotions have their voice before asking them to make sense. As parents, we want to protect our kids from pain. But sometimes protection isn’t fixing or rushing or explaining. Sometimes it’s simply staying. Listening. Letting the feelings move through instead of pushing them away. This season is still unfolding for us. There are a lot of moving pieces, big decisions, and unanswered questions. But moments like this cut through all of it and remind me what actually matters most. And if you’re navigating big emotions with your kids (or within yourself), please hear this: you’re not doing it wrong. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is let the truth speak… before the plan does. To everyone who has reached out, prayed for our family, and walked this road with us - thank you. Your support means more than you know. And yes… for all of you wondering, asking, wishing, and hoping… We officially got the keys last night…and are moving in tomorrow! It looks like we’ll be home for Christmas… 🙏
