[vo] Binob naedilo späk nu. [en] I'm nothing but a ghost now. Kanit rigik / Original song: DECO*27 - Ghost Rule • DECO*27 - ゴーストルール feat. 初音ミク Päradutöl Volapüke fa / Volapük translation: tetsusquared Pakanitöl fa / Cover vocal: DiffSinger Gahata Meiji Another Vocaloid song covered in a conlang - I can't believe this song came out ten years ago! This time, I tried out DiffSinger; it's hard to wrap my head around truly being able to mix and match phonemes, rather than just drawing from a fixed set of sounds. For instance, Mandarin {zh/v}, nominally /y/, actually palatalizes the preceding consonant regardless of what language that consonant is drawn from - makes sense, since it generally only occurs after alveolo-palatal consonants or /n/ and /l/. Still, the fact that there are free voicebanks that, save for the ever-elusive lateral fricatives, would be able to speak Ithkuil IV or Klingon perfectly is so cool - and I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can do with DiffSinger! • What is Volapük? Volapük is an international auxiliary language (IAL) devised by Johann Martin Schleyer circa 1880 and significantly revised as "Volapük Nulik" ("new Volapük") by Arie de Jong in 1931. Much of its vocabulary derives from English, although roots are often distorted from their original forms. Volapük was one of the first IALs, and one of the first conlangs in general, to be widely spoken, and the first to have an international convention. However, it was later displaced by Esperanto, and fell into relative obscurity. Still, it maintains a small speaker community today.
