Shams Aalam shared his powerful journey in para swimming and life after a spinal cord injury. Despite immense challenges, he refused to give up and transformed his pain into purpose. Through determination, resilience, and unwavering belief, he rose to become a world record holder and a renewed symbol of strength and inspiration for India. His story reflects the true spirit of overcoming limitations and redefining what is possible. hams Aalam is a highly accomplished individual with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in HR and Operations. As a paraplegic person, he has overcome significant challenges to achieve numerous accolades, including being a world record holder for the longest open sea swim by a paraplegic person. He was the first paraplegic SM5 category swimmer to represent India at the World Para Swimming Championship 2022 and at the Asian Para Games in 2018 (Indonesia) and 2022 (China). He is an international gold medalist, multiple national record holder, and recipient of prestigious honors including the National Award 2020, CavinKare National Ability Award 2024, and U.S. State Department recognition, inspiring society through his achievements and motivational speaking.
