Students Protest Against Teacher at Adarsha Vidyalaya in Jeypore, Allege Harassment

A protest by students was witnessed at Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya in Jayantigiri, Jeypore block, where students shouted slogans against a teacher. They locked the school gate demanding the removal of the English teacher. Parents also supported the agitation. Upon receiving information, the District Education Officer (DEO) arrived at the school and pacified the students, leading to the withdrawal of the protest. The DEO stated that an investigation into the matter would be conducted, and a report would be submitted to the District Collector. Students allege that the English teacher glares and threatens them when they ask questions, and gives vindictive punishments if they fail to understand, including making them kneel down or stand in the sun. They even claim she asks parents to apologize by holding her feet if their children make mistakes.
