This weeks session features The Chemists, or at least three of them. Thats Johnny Benn on vocals with Sam James and David Betts on guitars. Together with bass-player Wayne Jones and drummer Matt Albon, the Bristol-based five-piece have started making serious waves in the indie scene having recently been played by Gethin Jones, Janice Long and Tom Robinson on BBC radio. Its easy to see why. Johnnys got a fantastically gravelled voice and its a mark of the bands writing ability that their songs work just as well acoustically as they do on record all full-fat melodies, driving riffs and boundless energy. Signed to Distiller Records, The Chemists have already released three singles and are all set to release their debut album this month.
