You asked for it, and here it is. In our recent Zen Walks Community survey, you asked for a city walk for this week’s premiere, and so here we are in the historic Lisbon centre of Chiado. We’re immersed in Lisbon’s culture right from the first moments of this walk, as the iconic number 28 tram passes by, overlooked but the baroque glory of the Loreto Basilica. This crowded tram ride is a must for all visitors to Lisbon, and will feature often throughout today’s walk. In Camões plaza, we pass the monument to Portugal’s most famous author, and it's great to see the crowd buzzing with people once again. Changing direction, we see that opposite the Loreto Basilica is yet another church, Notre Dame of the Incarnation (Igreja de N. Sra. da Encarnação), and in turn each church offers the pealing of their bells. This area is spoilt for architectural splendours, particularly of the Baroque era, when many of these buildings were constructed after the decimation of Lisbon caused by the big Earthquake and Tsunami in 1755. 00:00 Praça Luís de Camões 02:30 Lisbon Tram 08:00 Chiado Square - Largo do Chiado 10:25 Largo Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro 13:35 Largo do Carmo 18:15 Santa Justa Lift - Elevador de Santa Justa We pass some iconic Lisbon coffee houses, in particular, A Brasilieira, and the statue of author Fernando Pessoa, who was a frequent visitor. Passing the surrounding neighbourhood, we encounter the ruins of the Convent of Carmo, another victim to the Earthquake, but preserved in its current state. Finally, we take in a magnificent vista from the Santa Justa Elevator, dating from 1899 and still in operation today. From here we observe over the convent ruins, and the terracotta rooftops of the surrounding city of Lisbon are on full display. Panoramic views take in the various hilltops of Lisbon and overlook the Tejo River in the distance, and it’s here we end our walk in contemplative Zen style. Thanks for watching! Interesting facts: The elevator of Santa Justa was designed by Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard, a Portuguese engineer with French origin who constructed several of Portugal's public funiculars and elevators in the early 20th century. 🎧 Use your headphones to fully enjoy the 3D ASMR audio 🎧 Recorded on the 8th of September 2021 18h00 | Lisboa, Portugal Route Map: https://goo.gl/maps/BqG7yZqYGgT7s1Rk7 Please press the like button if you enjoyed this video, and subscribe to Zen Walks if you enjoy the content. Now it's the time we put in some keywords such as Lisboa 4k, Summer, Walk, Portugal 4k Ultra HD, city, walking chiado, virtual tour or the best virtual tours, that are part of the description of this video. This relaxing trail video is perfect for treadmill, but also perfect for relaxation and sleep. In fact, if you're on a treadmill, you may enjoy a relaxing feeling at the same time, although it's not desirable that a treadmill trail video can cause a deep sleep state by listening to the ASMR audio. The footsteps, in asmr, will be around you in 360 degrees, creating a very deep immersive experience. It's pure ASMR 3D audio, and the video is in 4K and filmed at 60fps, or 60 frames per second. The relaxing walking pace makes this treadmill video a relaxing experience, almost like a meditation. A good virtual treadmill walk is great for virtual walking exercise.
