I do this for multiple reasons... you can manipulate and edit the background separately, you can change the background if you dislike it, and you can play with colour tones. What do i mean by play with colour tones? If you notice, I move the colour slider back and forth to change the background... I look at different colours to see what matches my avi or look, what colour stands out and looks best. This way i can either use a solid background colour that best matches, or find a background with those colour tones because I know it will match. Step Two: Cleaning up your pictures this sets you up for a sharp and clean looking edit. fix glitches, smooth out skin, make things even and erase any imperfections Step Three: Skin Everyone does skin differently. In this video, I didn't show how I do Skin, rather a dramatization of where I shade and highlight so you get a rough idea of where those areas are on the body Step Four: Hair I do hair after my skin is done. I will post a separate video on how I did my hair in this edit later ♥ Step Five: Lights and Shadows I will do a separate video later on light sources... After my avi is done the initial editing... I establish what direction my light source is coming from if its a plain background, if your background already has a light source, you just need to add bright and dark colours where the sun would or wouldn't hit. This makes your picture look more alive and pop out. you don't have to use black and white for light and dark. for example, for light in this I used a bright pink, and for shadows i used a dark purple. ♥ Step Six: Details this is always the fun part for me. I go over my Avi and add all that glitter, shine, random highlights. I look over the hair, eyes, clothes , body.. to make sure I haven't forgotten anything or any details. I try out different techniques or brushes at this point just for fun ♥
