Exploring my visual bond with South Korean folk art, Joseon dynasty art, and traditional heritage. In this episode, I’ll show you how something from the distant past can inspire now. Even before moving here, I was deeply inspired by Asian visual culture its link to nature and timeless roots. Now, living in Seoul allows me to touch that inspiration through my brushes, design, and art. I’m surrounded by things I once saw only on the internet or in books. This episode begins with cherry blossoms in Seoul I can see right from my window — a scene I used to watch only in anime and dramas. You’ll also meet a bird that feels completely new to me (back home, they’re all so different). Then, we’ll visit the Amore Pacific Museum Seoul, where an exhibition dedicated to Joseon dynasty art awaits. A funny coincidence — the museum building was designed by Pentagram, one of the world’s most independent design studios. I first learned about them back in high school, when I decided to become a graphic designer. My mission in the museum: to learn how to draw lotuses. Because… I’m painting one myself. Seoul is amazing — a warm, charming maze where a black cat waits around the corner with a cup of coffee in its paws, ancient tigers in the dungeon of one of the most expensive buildings, there’s a bookstore with a tiny book that holds all the mountains of Korea. 📍 Amorepacific Museum of Art Seoul, Yongsan-gu, 2(i)-ga 424 📍 Bookstore name: gaga77page Seoul, Mapo-gu, Mangwon-dong 414-2 📍Coffeshop with a black cat: Name is Mavin Seoul, Mapo-gu, Seogyo-dong 5-3 w ——— a / o ——— n ——— d ——— e ——— r ——— e ——— r W(a/o)nderer Series : Episode 4.
