Rising pH (Reference AOCS Ba 9‐58) Apparatus: Water Bath, pH Meter, Test Tubes with stopper (20mm x 150mm) Reagent: 1.Phospahte buffer solution (0.05M)‐ Dissolve 3.403gm of reagent grade monobasic potassium phosphate (KH2PO4) in approximately 100ml of freshly distilled water. Dissolve 4.355gm of reagent grade dibasic potassium phosphate (K2HPO4) in approximately 100 ml water. Stopper, mix & place in water bath at 30C. allow a time interval of 5mint between the preparation of the test and the blank portions. Agitate the content of each tube at 5mint interval. 3. Remove the test tube and blank from the water bath after 30 mints. Transfer the supernatant liquid another tube, maintaining the 5mint interval between the test and blanks. Determine the pH of the supernatant liquids at exactly 5 mint after removal from the both.
