ACK Maseno Mission hospital set for upgrade to Level (V) facility The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) - Maseno North Diocese has embarked on a transformative journey to upgrade its mission hospital to a Level (V) health facility, expand its bed capacity, enhance medical expertise, and at the same time improve patient care. With an increase in medical consultants and staff, the church has exuded confidence that the mission hospital that was started in 1906, will be able to provide comprehensive care to those in need, ensuring timely referrals and specialized treatment for all. The Diocesan Bishop Charles Asilutwa while speaking during the launch of the ACK Maseno Mission Hospital and Anglican Medical Training College Strategic Plans 2025-2029 today, said that the upgrading of the mission hospital and its offshoot medical college will go a long way in enhancing its capacity in the provision of quality healthcare services. Dr Samwel Mwenda, who represented Mr Harry Kimtai, the Health Principal Secretary said that the two strategic plans will position the hospital as a centre for research and collaboration in medical tourism and create a future where every Kenyan will access quality healthcare. Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi who also graced the occasion called upon the national government to come up with policies that will make mission hospitals grow, owing to the role they play in provision of better healthcare to the locals. The senator also called upon the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula to expedite the passage of the County Boundaries Bill, 2024 into law in order to solve border disputes in the country.
