I wrote 'FWD' in 2021 during a time of spiritual reconnection and a renewed sense of faith. Little did I know that life was about to test that faith in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Shortly after writing this song, I lost my father. Then my uncle. Then my grandma. Grief hit hard, and I put everything on pause, including my music, to be present with my family. I wrestled with loss, doubt, and even guilt for wanting to pursue my dreams. At one point, my business was on the brink of closure. Through it all, I realized that no matter how much I tried to control things, life was beyond my control. It was only when I let go and leaned on God that I found the courage to move forward. Today, on my dad's 3-year celebration of life, 'FWD' is finally out. It’s more than just a song—it's my journey of healing, growth, and faith. And this weekend, my daughter turns 1, a beautiful reminder that life keeps moving forward. This one’s for my family. This one’s for everyone learning to move forward.
