Domaine de la Combe is a winery owned by the Gadais family, who are 5th generation winemakers. It was purchased in 2016 by the Gadais family and now operated by Pierre Henri Gadais. It is named after a hillside where it is located called Butte de la Combe (Combe is French for "valley") The winery consists of 15 hectares, of which 9 hectares are planted with grapes. They produce 5 wines, all of which are made with the Muscadet wines. The winery is located near Nantes (Loire Valley) between Sevre and Maine rivers, near the village of Saint Fiacre sur Maine Correction: In the video, I said Muscadet is the grape varietal and also known as Melon de Bourgogne. This is incorrect (as pointed out by a number of my viewers). Muscadet is an appellation (wine region) in the Loire Valley. Muscadet wines are produced with the Melon de Bourgogne grape varietal. The grape is a cousin of the Chardonnay grape and cross between Gouai blanc and Pinot Noir grapes. Muscadet wines are known to be tangy, acidic and minerally. The Melon de Bourgogne grape originates from Burgundy but it is better suited to be grown in the Loire Valley as it better suited to survive frost. The wine is aged 8 months on lees, which are dead yeast particles. For more information about the winery, please see their website at https://www.domaine-combe.com/
