There’s something special about bringing an old vintage Honda motorcycle back to life. The smell of old gas, the sound of that single-cylinder thump, the satisfaction of seeing a bike that sat for decades finally fire up again — that’s what this hobby is all about. 🔧 What You’ll See in This Video ✅ Step 1: Finding the Right Project Bike Before you start wrenching, you’ve got to find the right Honda to revive. I’ll show you what to look for — low-priced bikes with as many original parts as possible. The more complete the bike, the easier (and cheaper) the rebuild. If it’s not running, doesn’t have a title, and is covered in spider webs — that’s perfect! The rougher it looks, the better the deal you’ll get. ✅ Step 2: Full Tear-Down and Restoration Once you’ve got your project, it’s teardown time. Every nut, every bolt, every bracket comes off. I’ll walk through how I organize everything, bag and tag parts, and prep the frame and metal components for sanding, primer, and paint. This is where the transformation really starts. ✅ Step 3: Rebuilding the Engine The heart of every Honda revival is the engine. Whether it’s a CT90, Trail 70, CB125, or CT110, these motors are simple but tough. I’ll go over what’s typically needed — new piston rings, a valve adjustment, fresh gaskets, and sometimes even a full clutch or transmission refresh. Nothing feels better than hearing that rebuilt motor fire up for the first time in years. ✅ Step 4: Reassembly and Wiring After all that work, it’s time to put the puzzle back together. You’ll see how I reassemble the frame, install the engine, and rewire the bike using diagrams and a bit of trial and error. There’s a lot of learning along the way, but every bolt you tighten brings you closer to that first test ride. ✅ Step 5: Tuning and First Start! Finally, we tune the carb, set the timing, and — with a little luck — hear that beautiful vintage Honda engine come to life once again. That moment right there makes all the work worth it. 💸 Can You Make Money Doing This? Let’s be real — restoring old Hondas is not a great way to make money. You’ll easily spend 50–100 hours on a build, plus hundreds in parts, paint, and tools. If your goal is profit, the smarter move is parting out bikes. You can often find old non-running Hondas for $100–$200, and the engine alone can sell for $200 untested. Everything else — gas tank, carb, wheels, seat, fenders — usually sells for $10–$50 each on eBay. That can easily add up to $1,000+ per bike. But for me, this is about saving history, not chasing profit. Every one of these bikes tells a story — and when you bring one back from the dead, you’re preserving a piece of that story for the next generation. 🛠️ Why I Love Doing This I’ve spent countless hours in the garage learning how these old Hondas work. It’s not easy — you’ll make mistakes, you’ll lose bolts, and you’ll definitely have a few late nights trying to figure out why something won’t start. But the moment it does start… that’s pure joy. Hearing that little 90cc or 125cc motor run after years of silence is something you’ll never forget. If you’ve got an old Honda sitting in the garage — maybe a CT90, Trail 70, CB100, SL125, or even a Mini Trail — this video will give you the motivation to dust it off and start wrenching. ⚙️ Popular Models Worth Restoring These are some of the best vintage Hondas to look for if you’re getting started: Honda CT90 Trail 90 Honda CT110 Trail Honda ST90 or Trail 70 (CT70) Honda CB100, CB125, or CB350 Honda SL100 and SL125 Each one has its quirks, but parts are still widely available, and the community of builders and restorers online is massive. 🔔 Join the Revival Community If you love vintage bikes, flipping old parts, or the art of bringing forgotten machines back to life — you’re in the right place. Shout out to fellow Bay Area Youtuber @jenniesgarage as an inspiration when I started 11 years ago, Jake was doing his own CT90 and I learned so much from him! 🏁 Final Thoughts At the end of the day, you’ll learn mechanical skills, gain patience, and experience the satisfaction of saving something that most people would’ve written off as junk. So grab a wrench, fire up that dusty old Honda, and get ready to bring it back to life. Once you hear that engine purr again — you’ll understand why this hobby hooks so many of us. #HondaCT90 #VintageMotorcycleRestoration #HondaTrail #HondaCT110 #BarnFind #MotorcycleRevival #HondaMiniTrail #VintageHonda #MotorcycleRestoration #HondaLife #CT70 #ClassicMotorcycles #OldHondaRevival #MotorcycleRebuild
