When they learn of a plot against the Queen, the stage is set for an adventure that will turn the Three Musketeers into legends. The Sword of D'Artagnan debuted on November 24, 1950 as part of The Magnavox Theatre, an early television anthology that lasted for seven episodes on CBS. This was the first hour-long film made in Hollywood specifically for television. Produced by Hal Roach, it was meant to serve as the pilot for a Three Musketeers TV series which never materialized. It instead received an overseas theatrical release as a feature. Academy Award-nominated director Budd Boetticher later teamed with Randolph Scott for a series of popular Westerns. Star Robert Clarke is known for his leading roles in sci-fi films such as The Man From Planet X (1951), The Astounding She-Monster (1957), and The Hideous Sun Demon (1959), which he also wrote and directed. #fullmovie #freemovie
