talkRADIO’s Julia Hartley-Brewer has labelled the government’s “rule of six” coronavirus social restriction as “stupid” as she took on Transport Secretary Grant Shapps over the move. “You are currently defending, as a government minister, a rule - I know you know it’s a stupid rule, I know it’s a stupid rule, everyone listening knows it’s a stupid rule and yet the government is imposing this rule,” she challenged. Mr Shapps responded: “Because it’s easier to follow it’s easier for the authorities to interpret, it’s easier for pubs and restaurants to interpret, and will actually therefore keep the virus down.”
