Because I only went to school twice each week time flew by. It felt like the holidays arrived and disappeared in an instant, and when I started editing, I realized how time passes so fast when you are learning. I’ve been practicing more on real people, and even though I’m still not “there” yet, I’m genuinely starting to love working on clients. It feels exciting instead of scary now 💅. You’ll see some final Christmas nail art by Katya 🍑, Christina showing off her intricate press-ons (plus Grinch stickers), and lots of practice on Ashley, who works at the school. Ashley is my love-hate nail model in the best way. She’s either totally chill or extremely high energy, with no in between. She always asks for “one more thing” during her sets, which low-key drains me — but it also pushes my skills and helps me grow, so I can’t even complain. I also picked up more nail supplies from Amazon (definitely considering a best vs worst nail tech purchases video 👀). I tried to do a builder gel fill on myself and finished my final nail set of 2025. My instructor taught me how to do acrylic on paper forms and French nail designs. It’s wild to think that not long ago I was in week one wondering what I was doing with my life. Turning a hobby into a real skill has been so fulfilling. I’m grateful for the friends I’ve made and for getting to explore a part of NYC that I truly love. I’m only 2–3 weeks away from completing my 250 hours, and I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on what’s next.
