This is the Canon C300 Mark III 4K Video Test. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the latest C300 Mark III. Thank you Camera Electronic for letting me test out this camera. First I wasn’t too excited about the camera when it first launch. Because I thought it was just a small upgrade from the C300 Mark II. It didn’t have a full frame sensor, and no 5.9K video. Only adding the RAW recording from the C200. But I was so wrong. The camera has so much more. First thing is the 16 stops of dynamic range. I gotta say, the 16 stops DR is insane. The image looks really nice. Although I know using 100p/120p won’t be exactly 16 stops. But it was still a lot better than the Canon R5 120p. Plus the detail just look identical to the normal 25p. It look super sharp. Also another great thing with the C300 III, the codes is so much easier to work with. It uses the CinemaRaw light. So when I import the RAW footage on premiere. It just works. There was no de-coding whatsoever. And the maximum of 1Gbps works just fine. I don’t see the Canon R5 1880mbps RAW footage look any better in terms of grading. The only downside I found about this camera is, when shooting 4K 100p/120p, the DPAF doesn't do very well. I had to use manual focus most of the time. Which R5 is shine on this category. I only had 2 days to play with this camera. So I didn’t get to test out the 12Bit 4K RAW video. Hopefully in the future if I ever be able to use the camera again. I will definitely do a part 2.
