Alarm.com offers many ways to set up video surveillance in your home or business, and in this video, we're going to be unboxing one of the CSVRs Alarm.com offers. CSVR Stands for Commercial Stream Video Recorder and the CSVRs are designed for continuous recording of Alarm.com cameras. The CSVR2000P is one of three models of CSVRs, all of which are 16-channel SVRs meaning they can record video from up to 16 total cameras. These CSVRs work with both Alarm.com WiFi cameras and PoE cameras. This is actually where the difference in the CSVRs comes into play. The ADC-CSVR2000P offers only 1 single PoE camera port as it is designed for mostly WiFi camera use. The other 2 CSVR models, the CSVR2008P and CSVR2016P both offer 8 PoE ports and 16 PoE ports respectively giving you more built-in space for PoE cameras. This allows you to save money on equipment if you are using more WiFi cameras, while also offering options for those that prefer wired cameras. If you do have a small number of PoE cameras to use, but have a large amount of WiFi cameras, you can use PoE switches to connect wired cameras if desired. The PoE switch mentioned in this video is a TP-Link 4 PoE port switch which allows the 2000P to utilize up to 4 wired cameras while keeping the main focus on WiFi cameras. Regardless of which model you choose, you will need to upgrade the Alarm.com service plan with the SVR add-on. This allows your Alarm.com to incorporate an SVR, and from there you can attach the cameras you wish to the SVR through the Alarm.com portal. In our next video, we will go more in-depth on the enrollment process and setting up rules for your SVR, but you can set each camera with specific rules and the SVR with recording time rules in case you do not need every moment of the day captured. These CSVRs work great with both home video setups but truly shine with Commercial video setups where you can utilize Alarm.com's business analytics. Whichever situation you plan to use the CSVRs for you definitely wont be disappointed. Alarm.com CSVR2000P: https://www.alarmsystemstore.com/prod...
