Legendary character actor Timothy Carey's typically gripping performance in underrated noir classic The Killing, one of the first films of legendary director Stanley Kubrick. The film is about the planning, execution, and aftermath of a complex heist from the criminals' point-of-view, similar to fellow classic The Asphalt Jungle. The target is a racetrack and Timothy Carey's role is to shoot down a horse from a parking lot in order to create a diversion. Believing Carey's cover story of being a wounded veteran and being one himself, the parking attendant (James Edwards) sympathetically tries to be helpful. Carey, needing to shed himself of Edwards' presence, resorts to channeling racial ugliness in a poignant scene. This clip is a continuous 5 minute portion of the film and not an edit of scenes.
