Custom Airplane Hangar Door (Carr Doors)

I built this hangar with the intention of putting a commercial door on it. I looked into the prices and decided that maybe I should build one from scratch. Since it seems like that's all I could afford. I wanted a unique design, that wouldn't put stress on the building. This is what I came up with. Basically a free-standing cantilever style door that puts no load on the building. I think it's one of a kind, and seems to work very well. From design, to weld, to finish, this has been a really fun project. the neat part was, it finished at about 60% of commercial cost. Thanks for checking it out. - Mark Carr
