Lets Play Schools Physical Education Challenge in Upington

The reinforcement of curriculum-oriented physical education to promote physical activity in primary schools will gain momentum Tuesday with the official handover of a R1.3 million multipurpose sport court to the Rosedale Intermediate School in Upington, Northern Cape. The school was adjudged to be the fittest primary school in the country participating in the Challenge in 2016. The Let's Play Physical Education Challenge is one of the biggest school fitness programmes in South Africa, reaching more than 600 000 learners in 651 primary schools across all provinces. The Minister for Sport and Recreation, Mr Fikile Mbalula, will officially open the sport centre. Our reporter Neria Hlakotsa is in Upington to tell us more about Tuesday's activities.
