Köprülü Canyon boat trip was an amazing experience. We usually hike along the trails on the sides of the canyon, but traveling through the canyon by boat is far more enjoyable. To get better footage, we attached the GoPro to the person operating the boat, and I also filmed some shots myself. In certain sections of the canyon, the current was quite strong, and in many places groundwater emerges directly from the canyon walls, forming waterfalls that flow into the river. These waterfalls are impossible to reach on foot via the trails, but they can be seen while traveling by boat. This is a very special area with national park status. Further downstream, the river is used for rafting. Oluklu Bridge (also known as Oluk Köprü) is a well-preserved Roman bridge dating back to the 2nd century AD. Built during the Roman period, it once formed part of an important trade and military route connecting the ancient regions of Pamphylia and Pisidia. The bridge is notable for its single large arch and its narrow, stone-paved roadway, which reflects the engineering skill of the Romans and their adaptation to the canyon’s rugged geography. Büğrüm Bridge, located nearby, is also believed to be of Roman origin. Its name comes from its curved (“büğrüm”) structure, which was designed to withstand strong water flow and seasonal flooding. Like Oluklu Bridge, it served both commercial and strategic purposes and remains an impressive example of ancient stone bridge construction. Today, both bridges stand as silent witnesses to the long human history of Köprülü Canyon and add significant cultural value to the national park. #koprulucanyon #rafting #köprülükanyon
