CityStream: Seattle's new shimmering & vertical convention center opens

After more than a decade of planning and construction, the city now has a dramatic new space that has doubled Seattle's convention center capacity. The new vertical building rises high above Pine Street and will go by the name, Summit. The existing convention center, a block away, will be known as the Arch building. Some highlights of the new facility include 570,000 square feet of event space, a gigantic ballroom with a 65-foot-high ceiling, and two huge exhibit halls.
