Join Danielle Hicks, GO2 for Lung Cancer's Chief Patient Officer, as she talks all about lung nodules with Dr. Anthony Lanfranco, an interventional pulmonologist at University of Pennsylvania, and 17-year lung cancer survivor and advocate, Terri Ann DiJulio. They discuss topics ranging from what a pulmonary nodule is and what are all the other names for it. In addition, they cover what an incidental finding is, and how a pulmonologist analyzes a nodule to to determine whether it necessitates further action or appears benign. Dr. Lanfranco shares some slides to demonstrate the variety of appearances a nodule can take and what the different characteristics mean. If further action is needed, Dr. Lanfranco explains all the different methods of obtaining a tissue sample from the nodule. Terri Ann shares her personal story, and talks about the difficulty of waiting to rescan while a nodule is under long-term observation.
