Found Sound Ensemble (FSE). Musical Flora Series. St. John's DTK downtown Kitchener. Premiere performance for the ensemble. In this performance, 36 repurposed kitchen bowls, 16 mics. This piece is free improv duo, Max Lindsay is the soloist, I (Bruce Gremo) am in a more supportive role. If you have not already heard the low end of the bowls in other performances from this concert, the fact that everything is mic-ed might go unnoticed. The mics make this micro-sonically interesting. Without them the one would only hear the complxity and bandwidth of sound with ears close to the bowl. Ensemble members are; Max Lindsay percussion and improvisation, Zhang Li percussion and erhu, Laura Burke percussion and microtonal keyboard, Bruce Gremo composer inventor percussion and glissando flute.
