We’ve talked about our words, our work, money, relationships, and more. Today, we’re ending where Proverbs says wisdom begins: with the fear of the Lord. But what does that actually mean? Most people hear “fear” and think of terror — waiting for God to strike when we mess up. But biblical fear isn’t a fear that makes you run from God… it’s a fear that draws you closer in awe. Just like you feel when you stand at Niagara Falls or the edge of the Grand Canyon — overwhelmed by power and beauty at the same time — the fear of the Lord is a posture of wonder. It’s realizing: · God is holy and I’m not · God is big and I’m small · God is powerful and yet He loves me deeply Proverbs says this kind of fear leads to blessing, contentment, peace, and life. It’s a perspective shift that changes how we see everything — especially God. Because how you see God determines how you live before Him. Two people can experience the same situation — one grows bitter, one grows better. Why? Perspective. What comes into your mind when you think about God is the most important thing about you. So today we’re discovering four perspective shifts that help us fear the Lord rightly: 1. Stand in Awe — worship fueled by wonder, not mere routine 2. See with Wisdom — letting God shape the lens through which we view reality 3. Walk in Trust — not treating God like a consultant, but as Lord 4. Run Toward Grace — sin loses its grip when grace grips your heart The fear of the Lord doesn’t make you hide. It draws you to the foot of the cross in wonder and gratitude. If you’re ready to discover the perspective that leads to life, peace, and wisdom — this message is for you.
