This #charcha2025 session, brought together leaders from industry, government, and research to unpack a critical question : is India building the right talent for an AI-driven future? 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐀𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 2026. We are also excited to share that this panel session was live transcribed and translated to Hindi leveraging Shrutlekh, a real-time speech-to-text transcription and translation tool developed under the Indian government's BHASHINI - (Digital India BHASHINI Division) initiative. Moderated by Sujit John, Senior Editor-The Times Of India, and hosted with knowledge partners Gates Foundation and GxDHub, the conversation explored emerging demand for human-in-the-loop work, the need for domain-specific data creation, and the gaps that keep women and non-metro workers from accessing AI-enabled jobs. The panelists Amitabh Nag, Madhukar Yarra, and Aditi Surie, PhD highlighted why India’s AI story must centre on workforce readiness: from building glossaries for sectoral AI applications, to strengthening digital literacy, to enabling fairer and more formal pathways into the AI supply chain.
