Thankfully all 7 boys had managed to escape with their lives, but the community was terrified. The parents, children and police were all on high alert. And what made the situation even more shocking was the description of the perpetrator given by the victims. The person who was committing these unthinkable acts was a child. Jesse Pomeroy was only 12 years old when he started torturing children, and unfortunately his cruelty would escalate to murder before he was finally arrested and gained the title of the youngest serial killer in American history.
