Course: Anterior Skull Base Surgery Course Module 1: Anterior Skull Base - Fundamentals Topic 1: Anterior Skull Base Anatomy. Dr Luiz Felipe de Alencastro’s keynote presentation on anterior skull base anatomy, including intranasal anatomy, relations to contents of the anterior skull base and implications on performing surgery in this area. Originally presented on 12th Dec 2020 -session 1, as part of the GR-ESS 2020 event, a two day event covering all aspects of Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (day 1 – 11th Dec 2020) and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery (day 2 – 12th Dec 2020). Dr Luiz Felipe de Alencastro is a member of the Brazilian Society of Neurosurgery and a Head of Neurosurgery Department at Mãe de Deus Hospital (Porto Alegre, Brasil). He has Skull Base Surgery fellowship at Keyo University 2007 (Tokyo, Japan) and in Neurosurgical Advanced Techniques at Tubbingen University (Tubbingen, Germany). He is Associate Fellow at University of Florida - Neuroanatomy Lab 2008 with Dr Albert Rothon (Gainesville, USA). He has a special interest in neuro-oncology and endoscope endonasal surgery. Global Rhinology Network is a registered academic non-profit organisation with a mission to foster surgical training in the field of Rhinology and Skull Base surgery. The concept of the organisation has evolved through an annual international live surgical webcast. The LIONESS established by Mr. Ashok Rokade with the strong support of participating surgeons in association with the lauded LION foundation. Prof. Christos Georgalas, Prof. Wilko Grolman, Dr. Robert Vincent, and Mr. John Oates were instrumental to see the LIONESS take-off in 2014 and to reach surgeons from more than 40 countries.
