Reliance Foundation is committed to strengthening young people’s access to higher education in India. Reliance has been providing scholarships to meritorious students for over 25 years, inspired by Reliance Founder-Chairman Shri Dhirubhai Ambani’s belief that the best way to ensure the nation’s progress is to invest in its youth. Over the years, Reliance Foundation scholarship programmes have impacted the lives of 18,000 youth across India. Since the establishment of the Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship (DAS) in 1996, Reliance has encouraged and supported meritorious students to pursue a higher education, and nurtured them to become young professionals. A large number of these scholars have gone on to pursue further higher education from premier institutes, including IITs, IIMs in India. DAS has provided scholars a stepping stone for upward mobility through increased confidence, access to enhanced education opportunities and increased earning capacity, also enabling them to contribute towards the financial wellbeing of their families. DAS alumni have proceeded to take leadership positions in their communities and workplaces, and have secured jobs at reputed organisations in India and abroad. The Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships aim to support up to 5,000 meritorious students based on a merit-cum-means criteria for their undergraduate college education, empowering them to continue their studies without financial burden. The Scholarships aim to enable students to become successful professionals and realize their dreams, unlocking their potential to lift themselves and their communities up and contributing towards India’s future socio-economic development. Students with a household income of under Rs. 15 lakh who are enrolled in first year of their undergraduate studies pursuing any subject stream can apply. Selected scholars will receive a scholarship of up to 2 lakhs over the duration of their degree programme. The programme will also aim to encourage applications by girls and specially-abled students. In addition to the scholarship grant, the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships will provide scholars an opportunity to be part of a vibrant alumni network and an enabling support system that will create long-term impact on their lives and career trajectories. Meet the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholars from 2022-23 - Charchita Goswami and Kunal Chaudhari who share their stories and dreams. A resident of Assam, Charchita is currently pursuing B.Com (Honours) in Accounting & Finance from St Anthony's College, Shillong. Hailing from Maharashtra, Kunal is currently pursuing B.Tech in computer science and from Indian Institute Of Technology, Mumbai . Both scholars were awarded the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships in the 2022-23 cycle for meeting all eligibility criteria for their meritorious performance in the Scholarships aptitude test.
