Modi to take a call on Advani's future?

In 1980, after the Janata Party split and the members of the erstwhile Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which had merged with the Janata Party, decided to launch a new party, one which is today known as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lal Krishna Advani was among the stalwarts of the new party. Having served as a Union Minister in Moraji Desai's government. Advani, along with Vajpayee, was seen as a senior statesman and following Vajpayee's retirement from active politics, the mantle of the party's leadership fell upon him. But the debacle of the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, one which the BJP fought under his leadership, seriously undermined his leadership skills and he was gradually pushed to the fringes and he could do little but watch as Modi, the disciple he had mentored rose within the ranks. Now, with the BJP all set to stake its claim at the centre, Advani's future seems uncertain. And going by reports, it seems like his disciple Modi will be the one deciding his teacher's fate.
