Written in 1999, "Star Chaser" is a tribute to a well-known part of Bangor’s history. The song was inspired by Jerry Mahon, one half of the famous duo "Jerry and Julie," who were fixtures of Bangor, County Down, for decades. While many saw only the struggle of alcohol addiction, I often wondered about the man behind the bottle—the former teacher who chose a different path. This song is an upbeat, folk-driven reflection on finding the "star" in someone who has lost everything else.
