I had about a month to visit home this summer. Originally it was supposed to be earlier in June, but the scotland project came up last minute! My vlogging was very very scarce this time home- partly because I had a lot to catch up on in the first half. The second half, I really just focused on what was in front of me and enjoyed my time with friends and family. Partially also because this time I got a lot of time with my Dad, who prefers to remain off camera because of he is still uncomfortable with his body/image after the couple years of cancer and chemo. But the last couple days before I left, he actually said that he will think about "letting me take his picture" the next time I visit in winter. (can there be a more old fashion way of saying that 😂) At the moment, I am ending my summer break with a trip with Mom! It has been so nice to get such precious time with her. No joke.. the more we grow up and are growing apart, the more you come to cherish things..or perhaps see the big, beautiful picture. Things have been very rough for her- things have been tough for our family period, but it's become such a normal and for so long that we are able to see it for what it is and instead make the best of our time together. To make it a time of love, appreciation, learning, the list goes on. My mom especially needs some time away from the immense stress she's facing. If you remember last summer, when my sister, Mom and I went to a little cabin bnb in the "some time away" vlog- this is kind of what we did again this vlog to the Marin cabin bnb. We also filmed a little fun lookbook there (for those who might have seen the wewednesday from last week) A whole chunk of the time spent at this bnb was filled with venting, crying, and more venting. I guess it overall fulfilled our goal of relaxing for the weekend, just not how we imagined it. As I said since there are many things I can never talk about in detail on social platforms in order to respect privacy, I can only describe in hopes you get an idea. my mom is so smiley and cute, I admire her so much for being strong and positive. I am on the plane, waiting to go to Europe and see her on the other side! (We are meeting in Brussels). It's been a while since I've gone on vacation with mom- she brought me to Europe for the first time in 2014! Oh how time flies.. Our overall itinerary consists of Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, and little stops along the way. If you see us please please say hello! Such a blessing to have the chance to meet you ❤️ I don't think I've ever been this busy before with all the things I wanted done before flying out. The last few days were nonstop editing (except when I eat of course I must eat in peace). I was even working on my laptop all the way up to Tyler dropping me off at the airport- I also speed dyed my hair this morning (with Ty's help) and I dyed it more red and darker than I'd like. My hair is back to what it was this February, a deep red orange. Got a good amount set up for the week to come- but not completely done like I hoped!
