Christer A was one of the main suspects during the investigation which eventually turned into a cold case. In 2002 Christer A attacked Robert, then a teenager, on a train. When filmmakers Marc Pennartz and Peter Isaksson contacted Robert twenty years later, he was not aware that his attacker had long been suspected of the Palme assassination. This is his very first interview, filmed autumn 2023. His description of the events in 2002 paints a disturbing picture of Christer A. In The Lost Trail, we get the chance to follow the investigation of Christer A from the inside, see released documents, visit Christer A's home and listen to what he says during questioning. The series features interviews with leading investigators, experts and relatives of Christer A as well as an interview with the last man who ever talked to Christer A.
