Following the Prime Minister’s statement advising the UK public to avoid unnecessary social contact, including in theatres, the Donmar Warehouse has made the necessary decision to cancel the remaining performances of Far Away and postpone our upcoming productions of Donmar Lates (25 - 28 March), In the Blood (17 April - 6 June) and The Contingency Plan (10 June - 1 August). We apologise for the disappointment this will cause for audiences. At this time the wellbeing of our artists, staff, audiences and the community must be our priority. The Donmar Warehouse is a charity, and public funding makes up only 7% of our income. The generous support to-date from ticket-buyers, members, trusts, foundations and corporate partners has enabled us not only to deliver much loved productions but also to work with thousands of young people and communities each year, to develop industry leading artists and to nurture the next generation of theatre audiences. Your support is more crucial than ever as we look ahead to how we can sustain the organisation over the coming months without any ticket income. This situation is unprecedented and the period ahead presents a very challenging scenario for the Donmar, the artists and freelancers who rely on us, and other organisations like us. Whilst we are hugely grateful for the support you have already given us, in the current situation we would ask that, if your own circumstances allow, you might consider donating the cost of your ticket to us rather than requesting a credit note or refund. In addition, if you are able to make a donation to help see us through this difficult time, you can do so via our website. If you have a ticket booked for any of the postponed performances our Box Office team will contact you over the next few days. Thank you for your patience and understanding. During this period of uncertainty for us all, the Donmar Warehouse team will be exploring new ways we can continue our mission to share important stories, thrillingly told. We will also be assessing ways we can support freelance artists, our local community and partners over the coming months. This is uncharted territory for the whole theatre sector, and we are grateful to our staff, artists and collaborators for their commitment and resilience at this difficult time.
