Chemical sulfate attack is when sulfate salts dissolve in water and then enter concrete. For potassium and sodium sulfates, these salts dissolve in water and then react with parts of the concrete and create expansive products that cause cracking. With additional exposure these salts start to dissolve the CSH! This turns the concrete into mush! The video also discusses magnesium sulfate salts.
