Friends, while the world is busy with Covid 19 and India’s lockdown is slowly getting replaced by an gradual unlock - Bengal is still trying to stand up from the trail of devastation #CycloneAmphan left two weeks ago. In many parts of Kolkata people were left without electricity and water for days and weeks. The repairing of infrastructure with still take month and the regrowth of thousands of lost trees will take decades. However the situation on the countryside especially in the Sunderbans and South Bengal is much more severe. Complete villages and infrastructure like roads and embankments got destroyed. Millions of people lost their houses and belongings, waiting to get at least daily essentials to continue with life. I’m dedicating my concert for the Swaranjali series of HUM Nishād (  / humnishadrkl  ) to the support and rebuilding of Bengal.
