insert triumphant Final Fantasy music This Iron Giant kill appears to be the lowest level kill that someone has pulled off at this point, and it is only possible because of the work of other people. I'll recount my observations and experience, but nothing is novel in the approach to the fight or the setup. I simply merged lowest level runner strats with tedious ideal leveling methods to reach highest HP possible. *Cheat Engine was Used to Setup* Trying to be above board here, I didnt grind out gil for 99 Shurikens. It looks like Infinite Items is still on in the kill. Sorry about that, but more than 99 of one item arent used. The ability to do this kill at lower level was entirely thanks to low level strategies developed by Moogleboss: • FF3 DS - Low Level Game (COMPLETE) . Viking can be reached around Level 13. Leveling Warrior until Knight until Viking makes it possible to gain 4500 by 55. This is a ton of RNG as you must kill off every character, but one, level, check amount gained, and reset if not good. Hence, godmode when leveling and resetting. *The Fight itself* I deployed a similar strategy developed by many others. It is seen here in Fride's kill at Level 59: • Final Fantasy III Android - Hide BOSS Iron... . The fight itself is straightfoward: Bard, Viking, Ninja, Devout--all job level 99. For actions, Viking uses Turtle Shell turn 1 and Provoke every single time after that. Bard alternates between Minne (Madhura) and Elegy (Apollo harp)--until end of fight, when Requiem (Lamia) is used twice. Devout always heals with Curaga or Curaja. Ninja flexes. Turn one RNG Without Provoke from Viking, the Iron Giant will either target four times with melee or three times with melee and cast meteor. All four party members can survive. If two party member dies or Viking or Devout dies, reset. If Bard dies, immediately revive with Ninja, and pray Viking survives next turn. If Viking dies, reset. If Ninja dies, you can proceed normally on turn two, and revive with Bard on turn 3. Turn 4 goes as normal and you're off. From Entering pattern to 35% health Provoke, Curaga/Curaja, Throw, Sing - repeat until 35% HP threshold. NOTE: after a certain number of turns, I think that its 20ish, Viking's turtle shell wears off. Always use Ninja for items, so Ninja will need to Turtle Shell the Viking. The dreaded Swipe Once the Iron Giant reaches 35% health, the boss will use Swipe. It does 3500 to 6000 dmg. Surviving it is RNG. The goal is to reduce that RNG. This is where my strategy differed slight. I refused to throw anything with an attack rating much higher than 70. A Shuriken (atk 200) at job level 99 does between 12,000 and just over 21,000 dmg. Since the game display stops at 9999, every Shuriken hit looks like 9999. This is not helpful for approaching the appropriate 139,999 dmg without going over. Never allowing a single throw to exceed 9999 makes it possible to track progress. The math for phrase change is fishy . I found the transition occurred around the 30% HP threshold, not 35%. But, whatever. You may find something different. The Setup At this point, every character needs a turtle shell. Stop throwing with Ninja, and use Turtle Shells. Once done, use Bacchus Cider on Ninja and equip Knife (it makes you slower). Bacchus applies haste and haste+Murasama means that Ninja will act before Iron Giant. We don't want this on the first turn with 30% health remaining as Iron Giant can phase shift in the same turn apparently. Next, Bard. If the Bard is on an Apollo Harp turn, wait one turn. Do not throw! Delay a turn. If the Bard is on a Madhura turn, great. The ideal turn sequence here is Minne, Provoke, Iron Giant attacks, and then heal/throw. The throw of Shuriken will do between 6% and 10.5% dmg to Iron Giant's HP bar--you won't know. If the setup was correct, protection was cast by the Bard, and the Ninja got a turn after the Iron Giant, so the boss can't swipe this turn. Nothing but RNG and Prayer I started this turn by returning Muramasa to Ninja, assuring turn before boss. Nothing changes for Viking, Devout, and Ninje. For Bard, switch to Lamia harp and Sing --Requiem will do 3-5% dmg to Iron Giant's HP. So, with proper planning and execution, Iron Giant had just north of 30% HP, and I inflicted between 15% and 25% dmg. Pray for latter. Either way, Swipe is coming and its all RNG at this point. Two things must happen. First, the Viking must survive with enough HP to absorb the other three melee hits (dying to last attack is fine), and second, the Ninja must survive. Ideally, the Bard and Ninja survive. Repeating Requiem and Shuriken grants another 9-15% of Iron Giant health bar in dmg. If it doesn't kill boss, another Swipe will kill you. At the low end, you could only do 27% dmg, so it may not be enough to kill boss, depending on how much that he had. But, it'll be close. This only happened twice to me Overall, I'm fairly happy with kill, and I won't be trying for lower.
