Adam Brooks is a Consultant Hepatobiliary & Major Trauma Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals and has been the Director of the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre based at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham since it opened in 2012. EMMTC is one the largest major trauma center in the UK, managing 2000 major trauma patients a year. Adam is the been the National training program director and chair of the major trauma training interface fellowship. Adam teaches trauma surgery around the world as part of the faculty of the Definitive Surgical Trauma Care course and has been an international keynote speaker in Europe, Scandinavia and Australasia and has lectured extensively in the UK. His lecture will focus on the current management of complex abdominal trauma, in the context of damage control resuscitation, maximising performance under pressure and novel techniques and strategies for haemorrhage control.
