Hi Friends, In this Vlog i have travelled to Satara to visit famous Valley of Flowers known as kaas Pathar alongwith Boating in Bamnoli village, Step well in Limb Village in Satara. The Kas Plateau Reserved Forest, also known as the Kaas Pathar, is a plateau situated 25 kilometres west from Satara city in Maharashtra, India.[1] It falls under the Sahyadri Sub Cluster of the Western Ghats, and it became a part of a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2012.[2][3] It is a biodiversity hotspot known for various types of seasonal wild flowers bloom and numerous species of endemic butterflies annually in the months of August and September.[3] The plateau is situated at an altitude of 1200 metres and is approximately 10 square kilometers in area. Kaas has more than 850 different species of flowering plants. These include orchids, shrubs such as the Karvy, and carnivorous plants such as Drosera Indica. Kaas Pathar is a plateau made from volcanic rocks in the Satara district of Maharashtra, and comes under the biosphere of the Western Ghats. The flora of kaas i.e. the entire flowering plants and their related plants are typically restricted to that particular locality only. This is because the plateau is largely formed of basalt which is directly exposed to atmosphere. The basalt is almost covered entirely by a thin cover of soil formed due to erosion and has accumulated a layer of not more than 25 mm or so. Bamnoli village is the scenic village near Satara which is situated on the bank of Shivsagar Lake formed by Konya dam. Boating is the main attraction of Bamnoli village, local people provided boating for tourists to visit Tapola (Mini Kashmir), Vasota Fort and Nageshwar Temple. Baramotichi Vihir is a stepwell in 'Limb', Satara village in Satara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra . It was constructed between 1719 and 1724 by Virubai Bhosale (a secondery wife of Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj) to supply water to some 300 nearby mango plantations. It is 110 ft deep and 50 ft in diameter. Satara has number of religious places around. A portion of the sanctuaries are 500 to 600 years of age. One of such old sanctuary buildings gave to Lord Shiva is "Shree Kshetra Mahuli". This is origination of the well known Chief Justice in Peshwa administration, Mr. Ramshastri Prabhune. He was known for his straightforwardness in giving equity regardless of who was the charged. Shree Kshetra Mahuli is arranged at intersection of waterways Krishna and Venna. Krishna being real stream of the two. This place is additionally called as "Dakshin Kashi". There are three noteworthy sanctuaries of Lord Shiva to be specific, Vishweshwar, Rameshwar and Sangameshwar. There are a couple of more sanctuaries also however I couldn't get names and points of interest of these. Vishweshwar side is called "Sangam Mahuli" though Rameshwar side is called "Kshtra Mahuli".
