MY EYES ON THE WAY OF “WALK FOR PEACE” PILGRIMAGE - LE BICH SON Morning Teatime 13.1.2026 @ Atlanta, Georgia, USA #WalkForPeace These days, have you noticed how deeply moved people have become—simply because of monks quietly walking on pilgrimage? No banners. No loud slogans. No argumentative debates. No attempts to persuade anyone of anything. Only silent footsteps moving across the country. A walk of thousands of miles across part of America… And from a certain perspective, it is precisely this simplicity and quiet that makes people stop, pause, and feel a gentle ache of reflection… Do you see how many people stand along both sides of the road just to watch the monks pass by? Millions upon millions silently follow their journey on the Internet. And at times, I find my eyes welling up as I watch those quiet footsteps. Something softly stirs in the heart… I suddenly remember a line I wrote about the World-Honored One not long ago: “His footsteps are silent, Yet they move the whole of the four directions…” Within those footsteps, we suddenly recognize peace and serenity embodied—quietly moving through a world that never stops shouting… And those footsteps seem to remind us that peace and serenity are not something to wait for, but something we must actively walk toward. Peace and serenity are sometimes simply this: a brief pause before reacting; putting the phone down to allow moments of calm stillness; choosing kindness instead of trying to prove we are right; recognizing the precious presence of this human life rather than being swept away in the whirlpool of ignorance… No banners. No loud slogans. No argumentative debates. No attempts to persuade anyone of anything. Only silent footsteps moving across the country… Oh, those quiet footsteps that move millions upon millions of hearts! Oh, those quiet footsteps that move millions upon millions of hearts! With palms joined, I pray that Venerable steps be firm and steady!
