The James Webb Space Telescope is the most powerful and complex telescope ever built. It is designed to see the universe in infrared light, which allows it to see through dust and gas that block visible light. One of Webb's first tasks was to capture a deep field image, which is a long-exposure image of a small patch of sky. Webb's First Deep Field image is the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe ever taken. It shows galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, which is located about 4.6 billion light-years away. The combined mass of the galaxies in SMACS 0723 acts as a gravitational lens, magnifying more distant galaxies, including some seen when the universe was less than a billion years old. Webb's First Deep Field image shows thousands of galaxies, including the faintest objects ever observed in the infrared. This video will explore Webb's First Deep Field image in more detail, and it will explain what it means for our understanding of the universe. We will also discuss Webb's other missions, and we will look at some of the other amazing images that it has captured so far. #space #astronomy #interestingfacts #jwst #jameswebbspacetelescope #webbtelescope #hubble #nasa #universe
