The first Red Line demonstration in Amsterdam begins at 1:00 PM. Thousands of demonstrators will depart from Museumplein an hour later and march through the city. Demonstrators have been welcome at Museumplein since 12:00 PM for a walk-in meeting. The demonstration will begin at 1:00 PM. This will take place at Museumplein. The stage program will last a maximum of 45 minutes. The demonstrators will then walk along Stadhouderskade to Overtoom, Amstelveenseweg, and De Lairessestraat. The march will last approximately five kilometers. Due to the procession, the routes of several trams and buses have been adjusted. This is the third time the Red Line demonstration has taken place. The first two demonstrations took place this spring in The Hague and attracted approximately a quarter of a million people. The goal of the demonstration is to increase pressure on the Dutch government to end the genocide in Gaza. In The Conversation with the Mayor, Mayor Halsema stated that the city is preparing 'extremely thoroughly' and that he expects everything to proceed smoothly.
