Good morning, friends, happy Wednesday 🌞 This is Episode 206 of the Morning Ritual for Guitar Growth, our daily warm-up and mindfulness stream that connects physical technique, creativity, and guitar artistry. 🧘♂️ Today’s Flow We began with grounding breathwork and tuning, then eased into: • 🫱 Two-finger, three-finger & four-finger permutations across the neck • 🎯 Diagonal 1-2-3-4 patterns for dexterity and focus • 🎵 A gentle improvisation over “Horse With No Name” to explore tone & flow From there we talked about songwriting inspiration and referenced Pat Pattison’s Writing Better Lyrics (link in description below). In the discovery segment, we continued exploring the CAGED System - seeing how the C Major Chord and C Major Scale are essentially one living structure on the fretboard. I introduced the concept of the “Chord Scale” - a way of seeing harmony and melody as one unified geometry. We also reflected on Bill Frisell’s approach to tone, phrasing, and space — where the fretboard becomes a point of infinite density rather than scattered positions. A thoughtful, meditative session today - thank you to everyone who joined live! 📘 Pat Pattison – Writing Better Lyrics: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/writ... 📥 Download your FREE Morning Ritual Binder (PDF): https://jasoncareyguitar.com/product/...
