🇪🇬 Cairo, Egypt – The Grand Egyptian Museum Walking Tour in 4K 60fps Take a real-time walk through the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) — one of the most significant museum projects ever undertaken. Located on the Giza Plateau, only two kilometres from the Great Pyramid, the museum has been under construction since 2006 and represents nearly two decades of planning, engineering, and conservation work. With an estimated cost exceeding US$1 billion, the GEM is the largest archaeological museum in the world and a landmark in modern museology. The museum houses over 100,000 artefacts from all periods of ancient Egyptian history. Most of its collection has been carefully relocated from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, the Giza Storage Facilities, and other regional museums — an unprecedented logistics and conservation effort led by the Supreme Council of Antiquities. Among the most important exhibits is the complete Tutankhamun Collection, displayed together for the first time since its discovery in 1922 by Howard Carter. Other notable objects include colossal statues of pharaohs, royal coffins, stelae, and items of daily life that trace over 3,000 years of civilisation. Designed by the Dublin-based architectural firm Heneghan Peng, the museum covers nearly 500,000 square metres. Its modern design uses triangular geometries, a vast translucent façade, and direct sightlines toward the Great Pyramid of Khufu — symbolically connecting ancient and contemporary Egypt. This walking tour begins in the Grand Hall, home to the monumental Statue of Ramses II, and continues along the Grand Staircase, where large-scale sculptures are displayed chronologically. The route then leads into the Main Galleries, presenting artefacts from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms within controlled light and climate conditions that highlight their material preservation. Filmed entirely with natural ambient sound and no commentary, this 4K walking tour presents the Grand Egyptian Museum as it appears in real time — its architecture, artefacts, and scale captured authentically. 🎥 Recorded in immersive 4K 60fps for a high-fidelity, documentary-style experience. 📍 Timestamps – Route Highlights: 00:00 – The Grand Egyptian Museum 00:41 – Grand Hall (Statue of Ramses II) 06:21 – Grand Staircase (Sculptures & Monuments) 17:45 – Main Galleries (Tutankhamun Collection & Kingdom Artefacts) 🔔 If you enjoyed this walk, please like, comment, and subscribe.
